Privacy Policy

DocXWrench is built so that your documents stay with you. This page explains what we collect, why, and for how long.

What we collect

  • Your files: not uploaded. Repairs and conversions run in your browser, and your files and the results stay on your device. For a repair we record that a check ran, the file type found, how many problems it found and the result; for a conversion, which kind it was. Never file names, text or contents.
  • Usage: which pages you visit and what you click, without your files or anything you type, to see what works and what doesn't.
  • Your account, if you make one by signing in with Google: your email address and name. While you're signed in, your session also keeps the browser it started from and a scrambled form of its IP address (a salted hash), never the address itself. Kept while your account exists; a session ends when you sign out or it expires.
  • Feedback you send, with any screenshots: kept until we've dealt with it, and deleted with your account.
  • Error reports: when something breaks, technical details of the error, without your files.

Who we share it with

Only the services that run the site: hosting, storage for feedback screenshots and page statistics (Cloudflare), the database (Neon), sign-in (Google), product analytics (PostHog), and error reports (Sentry). We don't sell personal information.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, or for your account and data to be deleted. Email support@docxwrench.com from the address on your account.
